CHRISTmas

I LOVE CHRISTmas.  This time of year is so wonderful.  I love spending time with my family and freinds.  I love making people happy giving them gifts and watching them open them with a smile on their faces.  I love seeing my kids excitement Christmas morning when they see that Santa came in the night, but mostly I love this time of year because my heart is so open and full of gratitude for all that I have in my life.  I am so blessed because of the birth of the Saviour on that Sacred, humble night.  I am such a boob I can't even listen to Christmas carols about the Savior without weeping hysterically.  Especially O Holy Night. It is my favorite ever and I can't help but picture myself there as I listen to the lyrics.  Even though Steve and I are not rich by any means, and will never have a big beautiful house or fancy cars I have so much to be thankful for.  I am so blessed compared to some people in this world.  This time of year really brings out the best in people.  I see so many people who are willing to give to those less fortunate than they are and it makes me want to better myself.  I am so blessed because I have been on the receiving end of those generous people more than once.  This time of year is truly magical.  The birth of our Saviour was the biggest blessing of all!  Merry CHRISTmas!

O Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining.
Till He appeared and the Spirit felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!
O night divine, the night when Christ was born;
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!

Led by the light of faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand.
O'er the world a star is sweetly gleaming,
Now come the wisemen from out of the Orient land.
The King of kings lay thus lowly manger;
In all our trials born to be our friends.
He knows our need, our weakness is no stranger,
Behold your King! Before him lowly bend!
Behold your King! Before him lowly bend!

Truly He taught us to love one another,
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Chains he shall break, for the slave is our brother.
And in his name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
With all our hearts we praise His holy name.
Christ is the Lord! Then ever, ever praise we,
His power and glory ever more proclaim!
His power and glory ever more proclaim!

  2. Oh Darcy, I was so moved by this same song too! We sang it in our choir this year and I had never heard all the verses before. It is beautiful and is my new favorite Christmas carol.
