Dentist
Poor Hayden. At our dental checkup last week the dentist informed me that he had three cavities between his teeth. We try and floss every night but apparently it is not good enough. That is not even the worst news! The worst part came after we got his x-rays back and found out that he had three teeth trying to grow in but didn't have enough room. My kids have always been slow when it comes to loosing and growing new teeth. Carly didn't even get her first tooth until she was one year old! Hayden got his when he was nine months. He is seven and only one of them has fallen out by itself. I thought this would be a good thing and keep his teeth healthier until the dentist informed me that we were going to have to pull teeth to make room for his adult teeth that were trying to grow in. Yikes! All of this when we are POOR! O well I guess you do what you have to do. The dentist also told me that this would probably have to be a continual process because he inherited a small mouth from one parent (dad) and big teeth from another (mom) poor kid and not a good combination to have. He is going to need major orthadontial work as he ages.
He was such a trooper at the appointment! He didn't even make a peep! All he said was mom I'm nervous will you come in with me? I was happy to be there with him and so proud of how tuff and brave he acted. Going to the dentist is scary even for me!
He was excited the next morning however when the tooth fairy had brought him three dollars! I think that helped make things worth while.

Bar B Q
On Saturday July 3rd we had a big get together at moms with everyone. We don't get together very often because everyone is so busy but when we do it is a crowd. It is so fun for all the cousins to play with each other all at once. We loved playing in mom and grandmas yards and sitting on the roof to watch the fireworks although the trees in moms yard are a lot higher than they were when I was a kid.

Some Summer Fun!
This year we don't have much money for a big vacation so we just decided to do local things to keep us busy.
Hayden of course has to play baseball. I love that it is so cheap through the city and it gives us all something to do for a couple of months. However I don't think I would enjoy sports as much if I had more than one child involved in them at a time.
We also got free passes from our school for Trafalga so we got to enjoy a day of mini golf. My kids love this and I do too because it doesn't take much time and we get to be out of the heat for a little while.
We have gone to see the Hot Air Balloons for the last few years. I like to do this instead of the parade because I can't stand fighting the crowds that the parade brings. One of these years I am going to have to buck up and take the kids though because I don't want them to miss out on that experience. The balloons are fun and we even got to see my good friend Amberlynn and her adorable children. I see atleast one person I know ever year. Too bad I am not showered and looking very good, but o well.
These are just a few things we have done. I am sure we will have many more adventures to blog about before the summer is over.

Finally! School is over!
Yes I made it through another year as a teachers aide. I love my job but I seemed to struggle with patience this year. Lets just say I was happy for summer to come. A lot has happened the last few days that I need to catch up on.
The last day of school was always fun for the kids. They did their dance festival and the older grades also got to sign years books.
Also Kahner graduated! We are so proud of him.
And last but not least Hayden finally lost his first tooth! He was so excited and so brave. He just came up to me and asked me to pull it out. Carly and him wrote a note to the tooth fairy asking her questions like what color she was and why she liked to get teeth. It was very cute and exciting.

Weekends
Since I have started working at the school I have developed a routine that takes place every weekend. It is nothing exciting or glamorous but it works for us. Friday I usually come home relax, run the kids around a little. Saturday I usually clean the house and maybe go to wal mart. I have really turned into a home body. I enjoy my down town and I have turned into quite a hermit. Sunday the kids and I go to church and I usually come home and take a nap. I love these Sunday naps and am quite angry if I miss them. If my nap doesn't take to long I go to moms and go on a walk with her along the Provo river path. I love walking by the path. It is so nice and refreshing especially this time of year when all the blossoms are blooming. After Steve gets home from work on Sunday we usually go over to his parents house and play games. Steve and the kids love doing this. If we miss it for one week Hayden gets quite angry about it and I have to hear "When are we going over to grandpa and grandmas?" until we go over there. I really enjoy it. They are fun to be around and their house is very entertaining. Pretty soon school will be over and my routine will change again. We will have different things to keep us busy like baseball and swimming lessons. I so yearn for these days of rest and relaxation when I can do and enjoy what I want.
Here are some pictures of us on one of the game nights.

Well here are some pictures of my cute Carly right before her recital. I tried to upload a video but it wasn't working so maybe I will try again another day. She did such a good job. I am so proud of her. She sang two songs. I don't want to live on the moon and There is a place. She is the youngest one in her group and she is a lot braver than I ever was. I love you Carly!

Glasses
Yes this is me wearing glasses. Some of you may know that I had lasik about six years ago and might be wondering why I am wearing glasses again. Well I am not that happy about it myself. I started noticing that I couldn't read that great at school this year and decided that I should go get my eyes checked. I didn't think I would need glasses because Lasik is supposed to work right? Well that's what I thought until I was sitting in the eye doctors office and he said that my astigmatism had come back! What the FREAK! I was so mad. And he also told me that I would have to spend another 5000 dollars if I wanted lasik again because it had been six years since I had gotten it done the first time. I was so mad and disappointed that I started crying right there in the appointment. I think I freaked the dr out because this is not what he had expected, nor I. I told him I was so mad because I when I had lasik done in the first place I asked them how much it would cost me to have it done again if I ever needed it and they told me only 200 dollars and eye. Plus they don't prepare you for the fact that you MIGHT actually need it again. Money doesn't grow on trees for me so I can't spend 5,000 dollars every six years to have lasik. So here I am with glasses again. I feel like the same little nerdy third grader I was when I first got them all those years ago. O well at least they have cuter frames now a days!

So disappointed!
Ok I was so excited to make the healthy brownies that I ran to the store to buy all the ingredients after work today. I came home and went right to work making them. I was so excited and relieved to finally have a brownie I could eat and not feel guilty about. YUCK! I couldn't even finish one. They taste like pure cocoa powder. Hayden took a bite and spit it out. O well I should have know better. Although the neighbor kid did eat one and said that he LOVED it. So maybe your taste is different than mine.

Healthy Brownies! What?
OK this totally sounds too good to be true. I am going to try them out for sure and see for myself if they are as good as a regular brownie.
I was watching the TV show the doctors today and Rocco Dispirito was on there. Here is his low fat low calorie brownie recipe.
# Nonstick cooking spray
# 1½ cups canned black beans, rinsed and drained
# ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
# 1 tablespoon espresso powder
# ¾ cup egg substitute
# 2 tablespoons low-calorie sugar-free chocolate syrup, such as Walden Farms
# 2 tablespoons reduced-fat sour cream, such as Breakstone's
# 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
# 24 packets (84 g) Truvia or 8 tablespoons granulated Splenda
# 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
Makes 12 brownies.
Cooking Directions
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray an 8×8-inch glass baking dish with cooking spray.
Combine the beans, cocoa powder, espresso powder, and egg substitute in the bowl of a food processor. Process until the mixture is smooth, about 2 minutes, scraping down the bowl halfway through.
Add the chocolate syrup, sour cream, butter, Truvia, and vanilla. Process until all of the ingredients are combined, about 1 minute.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake for 28 to 30 minutes, turning the dish halfway through the baking time. A toothpick inserted in the center will come out with soft batter clinging to it.
Let the brownies cool completely in the baking dish on a wire rack. Then cut into 12 squares and serve. Refrigerate any leftovers.
NOW YOU CAN EAT THIS!

Yummy!
For those of you who love Red Mango Frozen Yogurt as much as I do you might want to try this. Unfortunately the only problem that I have found with it is that it only comes in Mango and Honey but I won't complain. I love the mango but I will soon try the honey. You also don't have to feel that guilty when eating it since it is very low fat and still very tasty!
