Mothers Day

Every mothers day I look forward to seeing what my precious kids are going to do for me.  They are so creative and excited about making me happy.  I truly do love this time in my life and look forward to this kind of present more than anything material they could give me.  This morning when the alarm clock went off there was a note on top of it that said follow the hand and footprints.  On each of the prints was was a nice little note like, we love you, your cute.  It made me happy just seeing them.  I followed them down into Haydens room where both of the kids were hiding and jumped out when I came in.  Carly had all the cute little notes and cards they had made for me sitting on top of a laundry basket.  I love it.  They were so happy and thats what makes me happy.  On top of it all Carly made me chocolate covered strawberries for breakfast.  It was a wonderful morning.  Steve also gave me a couple of gift certificates to two of my favorite stores.  Hobby Lobby and Old Navy.  I truly am blessed.  Even though my mom wasn't here to share mothers day with this year it was nice to talk to her on the phone.  Thanks goodness she and Angel will be home soon.  Life hasn't been the same without them.  Thank You so much to my wonderful family.  I truly am blessed.

Cub Scouts

Hayden has had a blast being in the scouting program.  Ever since he has turned eight he couldn't wait until he was able to earn his first badge.  He earned his Bob Cat and he always won the most awesome looking car at our pinewood derby.  He had a great night.  I am very proud of my hard working little scout.

Family Home Evening Fun!

I have to admit I am not very good at planning family home evenings.  After working and running errands it is usually the last thing on my mind but I do always try to at least do something fun and simple with the family.  This week we decided to try out some new games that we have gotten recently.  Hayden loves to play farkle on my facebook account so the Easter bunny brought that too him.  We had lots of fun playing it followed by a funny game of headbands.  The kids got this from their grandparents a few months ago.  This is the first time we played it as a family and we had a blast.  Hayden had a blast entertaining us.  He of course thought he was much funnier then we did since his jokes mostly consisted of him passing gas and then saying "Ok thats my question."  And of course with our weird senses of humor we laugh at him.  Even though its hard to round the family up and seems like more of a burden I am always so happy when we do it.  The kids  love it and we truly do cherish these wonderful times we get to spend together as a family (Even though they consist a lot of Haydens weird bodily sounds).

Easter

It was a wonderful Easter as always filled with lots of family and food.  It started off Saturday coloring eggs with the kids.  They alway love to do that and never get enough of it.  Sunday we went to a wonderful sacrament meeting. I love to go to sacrament on Easter.  It must reminds me so much of the savior and his love for us.  After church we went to grandpa and grandma Thomas' house and had lots of food, colored Easter eggs, had an easter egg hunt, and celebrated Kahner and Christines birthdays.  Around 4:00 came home and my siblings came over for more food and more Easter egg hunting.  It has been a very long and wonderful day.  I am so blessed to have to many wonderful family members around me.

Spring Creek PTA and teacher appreciation week!

This is my third year working at Spring Creek and I really am lucky to be able to work at such a wonderful place.  Yes it is hard sometimes dealing with the kids and the drama that revolves around them but for the most part I really enjoy my job.  This week was teachers appreciation week.  It was amazing how much work the PTA put into making it nice.  Being in the PTA really is a thankless job.  I love those women for all the time they spend on bettering our school.  Each day they made sure we had a treat in our boxes attached to a little note.  One day it was even chocolates.  Who doesn't enjoy getting chocolates.  We had a huge luncheon on Thursday catered by Olive Garden.  O my goodness can I tell you how much I love Olive Garden.  Even after all this goodness Friday turned out to be the best day.  They had Ellie Janes Massage therapy school there to give everyone a FREE message!  I have never gotten a message before because I am not a touchy feely kind of person but who can pass up a free one.  I LOVED IT.  Now I am hooked and am going to have to go get more messages.  Thank You Spring Creek PTA for all you do.  Next we need to have a PTA appreciation week.

Haydens Baptism!

Saturday march 5th was Haydens Baptism.  It turned out to be such a nice day.  Just the usual rushing around getting everything ready in the morning and then going over tot he stake center to get ready.  He had lots of family and friends there to support him and it turned out to be a wonderful day for everyone.  He was grinning from ear to ear from the moment we woke up until the moment we went to bed.  After the baptism we had a luncheon at our house with all of our family.  Its nice to sit around and enjoy such a wonderful day with loved ones.  On Sunday he got to be recognized in sacrament meeting and little brave Carly was once again an example to me and bore her testimony.  I am so blessed to have such a wonderful and amazing family.
