I haven't blogged for a while so I have a few fun things to catch up on. First, our annual trip to White River. We didn't get to camp this time because of Steve and my work schedules, but we did get to spend a day in the beautiful mountains with grandma and grandpa Thomas and Aunt Lynette and Uncle Bruce. It was a good day. Hayden did his usual search for bones and found a couple of really good ones. We also went on a couple of four wheeler rides that were fun. My kids love riding the four wheelers. Especially Carly. She would be happy to stay on one all day. Steve brought the bee bee guns with us so him and Hayden could have some fun target practice. It kept us all entertained and I was sad to discover that I am not as good of a shot as I was in my youth. O well, the boys had a fun time anyway. Second we went to Grandma and Grandpa Reyes' cabin. It is always so fun and peaceful there. The kids love being in the outdoors. We did some more four wheel riding, bone finding and just hanging out with family. Daren and his family were there with us and it made it fun for the kids to have cousins to play with. Daren has built himself a beautiful little log cabin there. I will have to take pictures of it next time. On the way home a truck stopped us and said we weren't going to be able to go the way we were going because the road had washed out in Birdseye. We had to go the long way home through Mount Pleasant and Nephi. It was a long ride home but beautiful. The sunset was amazing. Hayden said it looked like the sky was on fire. Last but certainly not least, we went to Spanish Fork voir with Shandail and the kids. It is so fun there. We had a blast. My friend Mikelle introduced us to this spot a couple of weeks ago when she was down visiting and the kids had a blast. They can swim or play in the sand. A deer even came and got a drink while we were there and didn't even act scared at all. Carly said she couldn't believe how ugly a deer was up close. I thought it was cute. The only bad thing that happend was when a gust of wind came and pushed our beach ball into the water. I jumped in after it, but the wind was pushing it so fast that I couldn't swim fast enough to catch up to it. It made it to the other side and I was about half way across when I watched a teenager pick it up off the shore, grab a gold club and hit it as hard as he could. Well of course it popped. I couldn't believe my eyes. All that swimming and I just watched in horror. The kids saw the whole thing because they had run around the other side and had almost reached it. They couldn't believe it either. All the dumb boy said was "Heres your ball, I found it like that." Uh right. We watched him do the whole thing. I think we were all in shock that he did such a thing. Well I swam back to shore and the kids came back with their popped ball so angry that someone would do that. Shandail ran around and gave him a piece of her mind. It was quite the event, but still a good day at the Reservoir.
